Baggie Binge-ing

Yak Shaving

Somewhere in the middle of last month, I pulled out the cream colored interlock knit I bought ages ago with intentions of making something for me. I located and prepped all the pattern pieces I needed to make view D of McCall’s M6513. Ian helped with the tissue fitting. And then I discovered the interlock was about an eighth of a yard short. Other February Makes

A small collection of photos of some of the other things sewn in the last month. The light is all kinds of weird in these photos, mostly because it’s February in Seattle. These were all made from stash fabric, so they qualify for this month’s Stashbusting “goals.” And since none of them are for me, they even meet the Challenge criteria (make something for someone else). Laptop Love

While digging around in my scrap box, I turned up a small collection of 60-degree diamonds in assorted batiks, mostly green and pinky-peach, with a little yellow. They might be left over from a shoulder bag I made for myself years ago (which I don’t have pictures of, apparently). I had to add to them, mostly purples, and here’s the end result: A laptop sleeve. Stashbusting with the Sewasauruses

It’s only been recently that I’ve started to take seriously the challenge of “sewing down” the fabric stash. Several of last year’s projects have “use what you have” as part of their guidelines. I’ve used stash-fabric for many of my Sew.Quilt.Give. contributions. Throughout last year, I had the general goal of not buying lots of new fabric; I don’t know that I succeeded at this, since I have a teetering pile of “potential” clothes.
