Nothing like Last Minute

About seven years ago, I picked up what I think was my first fat quarter bundle. I was at In The Beginning (which has since closed it’s retail store and is a fabric design house) and there was just something magical about these bundles of coordinated fabrics. I had no idea what I was going to do with the fabrics but I bought them anyway. Rachel over at PS I Quilt has launched another quilt along, and I’m not able to join in the fun. Frowny face. There’s a lot going on between now and the end of the month. Though a new quilt along would be fun, I’m not going to finish Caitlyn’s birthday present on time as it is. Not to mention that the last quilt along top still isn’t done yet. Oh, and Quilt Dad just announced his participation in another quilt along. This one is appealing for it’s traditional/sampler style. In preparation (sort of) for Kids’ Clothes Week starting in the morning, I’ve finally managed to finish (sans borders) the top to the disappearing nine-patch I’ve been occasionally working on since late last year. I found Rachel’s tutorial for this pattern about a year ago, probably when I was looking for something else and decided that I needed to make one, immediately. I’m particularly pleased with myself for not buying a charm pack for the starting squares, instead digging through the stash for Things That Worked.
